Seven Hills Homeless Center

Millwood Christian Church considers it a privilege to help support the work of the 7 Hills Shelter.  On the first Friday of every month our church prepares and serves lunch at the shelter.  In addition to serving at the shelter we continually collect items such as toiletries and clothing to help those in need.

Seven Hills originated from a University of Arkansas student project that assessed the needs of individuals visiting the Salvation Army in Fayetteville within a two-year period (1998 - 2000). When the Center was founded in the winter of 2000, it set forth to fill a gap in services within the community. Seven Hills began as a day shelter providing basic services such as food, shelter, showers, laundry and telephone services. Since then, the center has created three transitional housing programs to aid individuals to achieve self-sufficiency.
In April 2001, the Center began its first men's transitional housing program within our facilities, titled "Fresh Start." In 2004, the acquisition of a second building allowed the Center to launch a transitional housing program for a veteran's recovery program and a transitional women's program.
Today, Seven Hills has expanded its services to lessen the number of those effected by homelessness within our community. All of this was made possible through a compassionate vision, and the generosity and support of many individuals, churches, and foundations within Northwest Arkansas.

Seven Hills Services/Programs

• Professional, one-on-one case management to work through the obstacles to self-sufficiency
• Safe shelter from the elements and other hazards in a supportive environment
• Resources for obtaining employment: newspapers, telephone, clothing, message service, coffee, meals, mail drop, computers, and transportation
• Access to day labor
•  Opportunities for positive social interaction and activities
• Shower and laundry facilities
•  Computer access and training
• Mentoring opportunities with members of the community
• Referrals and financial assistance for substance abuse treatment, prescriptions, IDs, anger management, job training, and counseling
• Help accessing GED and literacy training, crisis counseling, money management and nutrition classes, battered women's shelter, and legal aid.

Volunteering

Volunteers are the heart and soul of Seven Hills, they play a significant role in our accomplishments. Your time will allow us to provide a variety of services and assistance as well as nurturing relationships and partnerships with the community. Donations to Seven Hills Homeless Center

Northwest Arkansas is challenged with a growing number of people in need. As many as a 100 men, women, and children visit Seven Hills daily for various short and long-term needs such as shelter, showers, safety, counseling, and job assistance.
We ask that you call our main line 251-7776 before bringing donations so that staff can direct you on items we are currently accepting. Donations of food and clothing (seasonal) are generally accepted unless we lack any available storage space. However, there are some items that are consistently offered to us that we cannot accept.
